Paying the fine is a guilty plea. If you pled guilty to the offense, Arizona is under no obligation to change it.
You're also dealing with state bureaucracies that don't talk to each other. NJ sends the convincing info to AZ and AZ decides if they want to add it to your record. That's the extent of it. After that, the communication stops.
During my short stint as a justice court clerk, I can't tell you the number of times I had this exact conversation!
Me: this citation is $125, this includes court costs, and is a guilty plea. Them: I don't want to plead guilty I just want to pay the fine. Me: paying the fine IS pleading guilty. You are more than welcome to go across the hall and speak to the judge, to schedule a court appearance to fight it. Then: I don't want to fight it, I just want to pay it, not plead guilty. Me: *blinks slowly* makes same statement again, adding in that by paying the fine you are acknowledging having broken the MCA statute listed on the citation, and paying the associated fine, which constitutes a guilty plea, and will go on your driving record as a conviction.
Gah. I do NOT miss that job!

Dangit. Sorry for the lousy formatting.
I had a similar problem where I went to court to get a ticket reduced and it still showed up unreduced on my MVR. I just showed companies the court ruling where it was reduced and had no problem, albeit some confusion. However I got it reduced before paying.
An MVR is a report of your driving history, as reported from your state Department of Motor Vehicles. Information on this report may include Drivers License information, point history, violations, convictions, and license status on your driving record.

Got a ticket in jersey and my license is out of Arizona. Originally paid fine but later found out that 3rd lane violation in jersey is unsafe lane change. Went back to court and got it reduced to non serious no point violation but it isn't showing on Arizona dmv as changed. Been round and round with jersey Court and Arizona dmv to no avail. Just need to get it off my background report so I can get a decent job. Any help would be appreciated
