My first concert was July 13, 1980 in Landover MD. I saw Ted Nugent/ Def Leppard/ Scorpions. Foghat/ Outlaws Nov 1980 and Travis Tritt/ Marty Stuart 1994 were my best concerts. Had some great times!

First: Led Zeppelin, March 1975

Most recent: ZZ Top, Raw Whiskey Tour, a couple of months ago.

Two way tie for best: Black Sabbath, August 1975, the night before I started my senior year in high school, and The Who, February 1976.

I never saw Stevie Ray Vaughn, but sure wish I had.

I wish I still had my list of concerts, but I threw it away: Black Sabbath twice, second time was when Ronnie James Dio replaced Ozzie. The Who twice. Bachman-Turner Overdrive. Robin Trower (with Van Halen as the warm up). Frank Marino (with Journey and Van Halen as warm up). Kiss in 1975 or early 1976. The first two Texas Jams - too many bands to remember. Willie Nelson. John Prine - my favorite singer-songwriter. George Jones (with Tracy Lawrence and John Anderson as warm up).

I also used to play bluegrass, but no big venues.

second time was when Ronnie James Dio replaced Ozzie

I saw Dio perform at a show with Motorhead, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden. They were all past their prime when I saw them in the early 2000's. Dio is someone I wish I could have seen in his Prime, whether with Rainbow, Sabbath, or solo. Hands down the best live vocalist and performer. At least among Hard Rock/Metal genres.

Never got to see Van Halen back in the early days, I was high in high school a lot. Did know Michael Anthony's "cousin by marriage" Always thought the kid was lying, until I was inside his house 1 time.

Saw the autographed photo's of Michael, and 1 of the band,on the tv and shelfs, signed to Aunt(whatever her name was) And the kid got front row seats and VIP back stage passes, everytime they were in LA.....He did take us for a ride, 1 night out to Pasadena, supposedly showed us Eddie's parents big fancy house whateverrrr lol

Boston was the first, April of 1976 Philadelphia Spectrum.

Billy Joel was the best. Saw him a half a dozen times before ticket prices skyrocketed.

First concert was Metallica back in '92 in Orlando, no opening act. They came on at 8 and played until 1 AM. It got rowdy and they had to pay the Arena $60k in damages. I guess that still stands out as the best. Recently I saw the original Misfits and Megadeth in Tampa. I really wish I could have seen Motorhead.

Had tickets to an Elvis Presley concert for early Sept 1977 in Portland ME. It was a late birthday present from my ex-husband (bday end of this month)...even tho I didn't care for him. Unfortunately, just before the concert, he died.

Never went to a concert until I was stationed at Mountain Home AFB, ID in the '80s. The first concert I went to was Kenny Rogers. That was a good one. Then I went to see Journey. That was my all-time favorite. One concert I went to was Sammy Hager with David Lee Roth. It was on a Friday and Fridays were a very busy day for me at my job in the Air Force. So the opening band came out and they were okay.... Don't remember who it was now. Then Sammy Hagar came out and everybody stood up and stayed standing. My job had me standing all day so I sat down, even though I couldn't see him. Next thing I know, the (ex) husband and his friends were waking me up because the concert was over. I slept through the whole thing!! The guys that we went to the concert with, thought that was so funny they had a shirt made for me that said Sammy Hager? And on the back it said: I slept through the whole concert! šŸ˜‚

I have not been to a concert since the '80s, but if there was a group that I could go to, I would pay to see KISS or Moody Blues.

Rob, you mentioned Shinedown. I think the lead singer is Brent Smith, right? That guy has an incredible voice. Iā€™d go to one of their concerts in a heartbeat.

Sure is! What blows my mind is looking at videos on YouTube of their live performances they sound just as good, if not better than the studio versions. I wanted to take my wife to their concert in Des Moines recently but she's not into big crowds and told me she'd be miserable and too anxious. I love Shinedown and how many of their songs help those suffering from mental disorders not feel so alone. I'm very thankful that I don't suffer from any but it helps to understand what others deal with.

Rob, Iā€™m going to pay more attention to the Shinedown lyrics. I have the Shinedown station on Pandora and they are mixed into my playlists.

I do like their song about the ā€œlunatics ballā€. Smith has a once in a generation voice. Iā€™ll go with you to one of their concerts if you promise to keep your hands to yourself. LOL
