Randall, you are brand new to this. That's not the time to start lumping trucking companies into groups. Your perception is way off here. It's obviously based on your own prejudices against christians. Get over it!
Here's the deal. Trucking companies love hardworking individuals who know how to get things accomplished. If that sentence describes you, then McElroy would love having you on board. That's it.
They don't care what you believe or what you do in your private life. They respect honest labor that gets things done. Focus on that and you'll be successful wherever you get started.
Oh dear jeebus. Here's the thing. Trucking is by definition, inhabited by the "oddballs" that don't typically fit the standard definition of "normal."
For the most part, people in this industry don't really give a flying leap what your orientation is. Many of us are getting really tired of that being the basis of an entire persons' personality. It's ALL they talk about.
Wether you eat a beaver or smoke a pole is nobody's business but your own, and your partners. Stop talking about it. Develop a personality outside of your sexuality. When you stop looking for every reason to scream discrimination, somehow the instances of discrimination are actually LOWER than you thought.
What a company is going to care about, is your driving record and criminal record. Are both clear? Can you do your job without tearing up the equipment? Do they need to hold your hand and babysit you? Can you make your deliveries safely, and on time, without wrecking anybody else? THAT is what matters in trucking. Not who shares your bed at night. Sit down, shut up, and drive the dang truck.
I noticed on one of McElroy's website videos they espouse Christian values. Before I waste my time submitting an application, was wondering if they also espouse discriminatory values.
BMI is a formula that uses weight and height to estimate body fat. For most people, BMI provides a reasonable estimate of body fat. The BMI's biggest weakness is that it doesn't consider individual factors such as bone or muscle mass. BMI may:
It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.
NaeNae, we can always count on you to tell it like it is.
Many times In colorful language. Lol
I've filled out a bunch of applications over my career and none of them have ever asked for my sexual orientation.
If Mcelroy's values bother you so much, why apply at all? You're setting yourself up to be miserable. I've quit jobs because their values didn't line up with mine. I worked at PepsiCo for a bit and I quit because their COVID policy went overboard in my opinion.
There are plenty of trucking companies you can apply to, but you pick the one that goes against your grain. It sounds like you're setting yourself up to play victim.
I talk like this in real life too!
Honestly there are a few topics that strike a nerve, big time, and this is one of them. I reigned it in from what I REALLY wanted to say.

Okay so I totally enjoyed NaeNae's statement! She told it exactly right. !!!Now I will laugh under my breath at a guy with a messy bun! Looks stupid!

I admit I came close to spitting out my coffee when I read part of NeaNea's eloquent response. That hasn't happened since G-Town's comment about adult diapers.
In all seriousness, Randall, you asked a valid question. The phrasing may have come off as a little too confrontational though.
Maybe you didn't mean it as such. Maybe you were trying to make a witty turn of phrase. It is difficult to tell without hearing your tone of voice or seeing the expression on your face.
Please be aware that nobody here has a problem with your orientation. The blunt responses were a direct response to what was perceived as a statement that might have been intended to cause unnecessary drama.

This sentence right here:
Before I waste my time submitting an application, was wondering if they also espouse discriminatory values.
The only people from the LGBTQIA+ brigade that I personally have interacted with, that have made that statement, did so with the express purpose of a "gotcha" situation. They intentionally sought out a business or individual, with the express purpose of poking the bear (no, not a Leather Daddy, sheesh) to trigger a situation where they could run to court screaming discrimination. It happens. If "Christian Values" bother (general) you, don't freaking apply to work at a company whose founders are Christians. It's pretty simple.

Just noticed this could be interpreted in 2 different ways. (1) a result of being shocked and outraged. Or (2) from being surprised and trying to stifle a laugh.
I admit I came close to spitting out my coffee...
#2 was the cause in this case.
