Stevo, to my knowledge there are no TMC drivers who participate in this forum.
Could you call someone from TMC and get some info about this math test?
Thanks BK, Yes I planed on asking recruiter next time I talked to them just not sure how much info they will provide.
Don't worry too much about the math. If you're going to be a truck driver you need to be able to do basic math. They will show you what they want and explain how to do it. Then you'll be tested.
Trust me, if you're hauling a 45,000 pound steel coil, you'll want to understand the math. That math shows you how many 3/8" chains you need on it to keep it from crashing into the cab with you. Very important stuff. You can start learning it now in our free course...

I got sent home from TMC three times. So... I'm kind of an expert on this subject. I never saw anyone go home because of the math test. There's three main things that will put you on a bus back home.
1) Fail the drug test.
2) Lie or try to conceal something on your application. The background check is very thorough. If you have doubts about anything, be upfront about those issues.
3) Medical examination or D.O.T physical. I saw folks getting sent home for minor issues. They are very strict about this. They go way beyond the D.O.T. standards. That's perfectly legitimate and normal in this business. TMC wants the best when it comes to being fit and capable of handling the rigorous work of a flatbedder.
It was the medical exam which cut me each time. They not only do an exam, but they have a physical therapist who runs the group through a series of qualifying exercises. If he isn't satisfied with what he sees, he has full authority to disqualify you.

Stevo #1, the old has to be used up before starting with the new.
BK, it's not the first time I've seen another "Stevo" back in the 90's at an auto parts store in Bullhead City, counter guy's name tag the same, we laughed over it....
Seen a truck back east, at fuel isle with "Stevo Trucking" couple years ago. I even seen some sidewalk graffiti spray painted on the ground, from some wanna-be gangsta in Azusa Cal. The day I was headed to LAX to come to the Phil's. We stopped to eat at this little burger joint, I went outside for a smoke, looked down and seen "Stevo" hahaha funny stuff..........Not spelt like that MTV idiot Steve-O
Anyways another hot day here in Asia, off to take a 2nd Tabo-Tabo bath.........STAY SAFE & BUSY Guys n Gals

Just had a few questions about TMC Orientation, I am 48 starting a carrier change from being a Auto Technician for 30 years and started Cdl school. Looking at flatbed trucking to stay active plus I enjoy a challenge. TMC was my num 1 choice which I applied and got approved. However kinda concerned by the number of people I hear get sent home on day 1 lol. Biggest question I have is this Math test is it a pass or fail,As get kicked out ? And what kinda math should I brush up on ? Never was my strong suit in school and haven't been in school for many Years. Any other tips to get me past orientation would be great ! McElroy is also a contender. Any information would be great Thanks
