The traffic in the Atlanta area is beyond a nightmare...especially on the North side of the city. Years ago I lived just Northeast of where I-85 and I-285 come together (unofficially known as Spaghetti Junction) and you can't move day or night. I remember trying to go to a park and throw a baseball around and it was so crowded we couldn't find a place at all. I mean, how much room do you need to throw a baseball???? That's how crowded everything is there.
On the plus side - awesome city with tons and tons of stuff going on all the time. Lots of money there, great bars, tons of sports, concerts galore - never a dull moment. I loved living there but it was just so crowded I couldn't take it anymore. You know how you go to the deli at the supermarket, take a number, and wait on it to be called? Well in Atlanta you'll do that but the first time you do it you're taking a number to get in line for the opportunity to take a number!
And Anchorman.....you rock! Seriously, you come up with a ton of great stuff all the time. Someone asks a question, you dig up the facts. Love it!
There's a scale house that is almost always open just west of Atlanta on I-20. It's within spitting distance of werners terminal here and sits dead between there and my home. I could see that thing adding some annoyance with me trying to get home, especially if I worked for Werner. But I have heard it said that "if you're gonna be over weight be over weight in Georgia."
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
Best thing, and only good thing about Atlanta is that is where Tracey lives and whenever I'm in the area I get to meet up with him. Besides that, Atlanta is scary!

GA would be amazing !
Where I live the diversity in trucking ( local anyway ) is mulch , chips , and logs . And I've learned its not easy to get on with these companies either . ' Off road experience a must '
I talked with a driver from Elite Carriers , who has done driven dry van in every major city in the country as well as all 4 provinces in Canada who said they won't even hire him .

Dry Van:
A trailer or truck that that requires no special attention, such as refrigeration, that hauls regular palletted, boxed, or floor-loaded freight. The most common type of trailer in trucking.
