Rand McNally Atlas...don't rely only on GPS
Patience, professionalism, sense of humor and dedication go a long way too.
Back scratcher and fly swatter.
Truck cleaning supplies. Glass cleaner. Quarters for laundromat.
Small (1+) pound tub of 5th wheel grease and a putty knife to apply it.....I bought the small 1 before lol it only lasted 2 applications. Then I got a bigger tub of it at AutoZone think it was a 4 pound bucket.
Also a can of WD 40, for trailer axle locking pins, it can come in handy !
Ziploc bags and Toilet Paper (for personal emergencies)
5 lb. hammer for trailer tandem pins
Bungie Cords & Duck Tape
A set of axles spaced close together, legally defined as more than 40 and less than 96 inches apart by the USDOT. Drivers tend to refer to the tandem axles on their trailer as just "tandems". You might hear a driver say, "I'm 400 pounds overweight on my tandems", referring to his trailer tandems, not his tractor tandems. Tractor tandems are generally just referred to as "drives" which is short for "drive axles".
One item I have always forgot to post here is to get a real good pair if binoculars.
Many are the times you will need to or want to see something from the truck, but it’s just too far away to see without help. Like the sign for the shipping/receiving office. Lol
If you plan on cooking in the truck get some sprayable dish soap and paper towels for cleaning dishes
Cutting board. If you have a fl, it can lodge in the steer wheel as a table, also very useful for an added table.
As stated rand McNally motor carriers atlas. Clipboard for bols, paperwork. Pens. Battery powered small vacuum for cab. Battery powered leaf blower unless you like sweeping trailers by hand.
By no means necessary but i keep a socket and wrench set, multiple hammers and prybars, bolt cutters, full Dewalt 20v combo kit includes multi tool, Sawzall, drill, impact, and chargers, extra batteries. Multiple drill bit indexes, Use it at least weekly for fixing trailers, mudflaps, tandems , doors, etc.
As said too paper towels, spare gloves, hand cleaner n pb blaster, wd40
