Hello, I am looking for somoene serious willing to partake with me into saving money together and afford to buy a truck and do the business with it together. understand unity is strength. so anybody who think this is a good idea just let me know and let talk further about it. and I am open to any other suggestions as well.

Gaddiel, I appreciate your ambition, but it is NOT a good plan. If you believe that unity is strength, then become a company driver with a solid, established trucking company. Their strength is unity that has been developed over many years and you could become a part of their continued success.

You sound like you are very new. Do you have a CDL? What are your qualifications for operating as an owner/operator? Plus what you want to do would require a very large investment that might very well be lost.

If you want help and advice as a driver, you can get that here. But to do what you are asking for, you are not going to get any encouragement here because no one would think your idea is a good one. Sorry.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
