Hey Jamie! Glad to see you back and glad to hear you're still out there making it happen!
Hey, this is really a blast from the past, but does Crete still offer drivers their choice of loads if they have multiple loads available in an area? Back in the day, they were the only company I knew of that did. I thought that would be a massive improvement in the lives of drivers if they could get a choice sometimes, but rarely did I see it happen.
How have your miles been this year?

How have your miles been this year?
Hey! Yeah I can’t believe it has already been 5 years since I started trucking… time flew by.
Sadly not, Crete has not done this for a number of years and not at all since I came here 4 years ago. They said they had to stop doing it with the amount of drivers they have and how long some people take to respond to preplans, it became a problem. But it’s not really a force dispatch company, they do tend to work with you the longer you have been here and get to know your asset manager.
I have heard a lot of stories of people having problems with their asset managers, but I have not seen it if you’re willing to work with them. I have nothing bad to say about Crete, I enjoy my time here and get paid pretty well for it too.
The year started off pretty bad on the reefer side, I was running dedicated for Shaffer at the time and came back to the Walmart fleet in May and things have been super busy as they always are on this account.
But I’m course to run about 140k miles for the entire year. So they have been keeping me busy. :D
A refrigerated trailer.
I’m on course to run about 140k miles for the entire year.
Hello Jamie, it is really great to hear from you!
Man, I am impressed with your mileage! I love seeing people reach those kinds of miles. It tells me they really have got the hang of this and are working really hard at being efficient and productive. That is awesome!
It is funny how truck drivers always want to equate their treatment in this business with the name on their truck. I know better than that. Crete is obviously treating you well, but I know this business is reciprocal. Nobody runs that kind of miles without being safe, productive, and easy to work with. Congratulations sir, on your success! It makes us proud to have been somewhat involved in it.
Hi Jamie. Nice of you to drop and hook in on us, lol.
Great mileage. Are you doing all reefer? How much time have you taken off during your 140,000 mile year and what is your home time arrangement?
A refrigerated trailer.
Drop and hook means the driver will drop one trailer and hook to another one.
In order to speed up the pickup and delivery process a driver may be instructed to drop their empty trailer and hook to one that is already loaded, or drop their loaded trailer and hook to one that is already empty. That way the driver will not have to wait for a trailer to be loaded or unloaded.
Dang Jamie you're killing it. Are you out of the same Walmart DC that you did previously? If so, have the issues getting you home when requested improved?
Glad to see things are going well. Keep up the great work.
Nice to see ya Jamie! Glad things are going well!

How is everyone doing? It’s been awhile since I have posted.
Not much has changed, I’m still driving for Crete. I’ve been here a little over 4 years now, mostly on their Walmart dedicated fleet, and a mix of other dedicated fleets
