Hi Christopher!
I started with a class B, too. Having went to a company sponsored school, I had to do everything over again. It might vary from state to state. I reside in Michigan and tested in Ohio and had to take a test, do pre-trip, and a driving test.
Good luck to you! If at first you don't succeed, don't give up. I failed the alley back portion of the driving test and had to re-test and passed that time.
I have my CDL-B license, and I would like to now go for my class A. Do I need to retake the test all over or just do the driving portion of the test? Anyone have any suggestions on this?
I'll guess a yes to both, Class A VS Class B is different on both test an driving.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
B to A would be a full test (knowledge, pretrip, skills, and road). Written or knowledge test would only be the combination test. And don't forget about the ELDT schooling for the upgrade.
