It's definitely the worst I've ever seen in my 5 years at FedEx. I see no light at the end of this tunnel.
I sat out the last 2 weeks and I haven't worked this week. They're offering dock work and I'm probably going to have to take them up on that.
I'd like to find out from more of you how well they're keeping you moving. Spring is upon us, so hopefully we'll get a little freight action, but I'm not confident we'll see much of a pickup.
Our freight (reefer), is as busy as ever. The company gave any driver a bonus this month for staying out all month because they were short on drivers.
I’m getting over 3500 miles per week. Last week was 3958 miles.
We haul lots of meat to the hungry carnivores out there. Maybe the meat market is an exception to the slowdown in other areas. I don’t know if the company is busier than others in the refrigerated area, but I would like to hear how other refrigerated freight drivers are doing.
And the company continues to hire drivers.

Marten keeps us moving with reefer work. I average between 2500 to 3000 a week. It’s definitely been slower and we aren’t getting the holiday bonuses that we used to get.
There will always be some work in Reefer, we gotta eat in good times and bad! lol

Food Service always busy, always hiring.
I just hit my one year mark with Jewel a month ago. Seems busier this year than it was this time last year. But we also have had quite a few retirements. And a lot of drivers on the verge of retirement. Overall it’s been consistent.
Freight has been inconsistent the last few months. A week or two light, then gang busters the next week. In my area one of our biggest customers is Electrolux in Atlanta. They recently changed companies they contract to run the distribution center. All new software that runs the warehouse and never bothered to train anyone on how to use it. And a majority of the staff quit vs moving over to the new company. So its now a complete mess. Last I heard they where still a week behind on receiving loads and and doing outbounds.

Electrolux? From what I've heard, their freight really "sucks"! LOL
Being part of the division in our company that relies heavily on people splurging on travel and tourism, it's been a bit of a slow year for park attendance. As a result, merchandise sales have been sluggish too, though they've held somewhat steady since they tend to follow the number of visitors. But they're nowhere near what they were when I first joined the team two years ago. I'm confident that once we start shipping merchandise to the new park in preparation for its opening next year, things are going to pick up big time.

Saw some people say theyve been sitting a few day. So i Spoke with my dispatcher , he said it is getting even slower than it has been. It's the slowest he's seen in 6 years.
We are barely moving a million pounds of freight and he needs to he at least 1.6 million pounds to have enough for everyone. The dock is also about 400 bills short of what they need last few days.
Dispatcher:
Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager
The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
