I don’t k now how to post this as a clickable link, but if you can go to this site it is informative on this issue.
The site is CDLLEGAL. COM
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
When you say "Masking", I rolled my eyes and said "Not a face-mask issue again!"
I cleaned up your link so it looks like this: How Does Anti-Masking Law Affect CDL Drivers? (Use the blue "Link" above the text entry box.)
Here is the text of the "Anti-Masking" law:
(384.226) Prohibition on masking convictions.
“The State must not mask, defer imposition of judgment, or allow an individual to enter into a diversion program that would prevent a CLP or CDL holder’s conviction for any violation, in any type of motor vehicle, of a State or local traffic control law (other than parking, vehicle weight, or vehicle defect violations) from appearing on the CDLIS driver record, whether the driver was convicted for an offense committed in the State where the driver is licensed or another State.”
I'm not a lawyer, but I will clean some of the lawyer stuff out:
(384.226) Prohibition on masking convictions.
“The State must not mask (hide), ... any violation... [in a way] that would prevent a CLP or CDL holder’s conviction for any violation, in any type of motor vehicle, of a State or local traffic control law ... from appearing on the CDLIS driver record, whether the driver was convicted for an offense committed in the State where the driver is licensed in another State.”
I think a court can reduce a moving violation for many reasons. So your question needs a bit more backup information.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
The Commercial Driver’s License Information System (CDLIS) is a nationwide computer system that enables state driver licensing agencies (SDLAs) to ensure that each commercial driver has only one driver’s license and one complete driver record.
A drivers file will include their driving record as well as their medical certification status.
Before getting their CDL, commercial drivers will receive their commercial learner's permit (CLP) upon passing the written portion of the CDL exam. They will not have to retake the written exam to get their CDL.
Thanks guys for replies. I have read a statutes but it still seems like a gray area. I guess until someone is actually convicted the offense can still be reduced. Its just surprising how many tickets are reduced or dismissed. I mean if you are caught on radar doing a certain speed why would it be reduced to a lesser speed? That seems like the ticket is being masked.

How does the Anti-Masking Law affect CDL drivers, and what are the implications for CDL holders who have convictions for traffic control law violations in terms of their CDLIS driver record?

Hi everyone and hope your weekend is going well. Does anyone have any info on the topic? I have a few friends(cdl holders) that have received reduced speeding tickets and I thought that would be violating anti masking laws or maybe I’m misunderstanding the law. Thanks
