My dad is a shop Forman for a truck dealer and this was one of the tires steer tires on a truck they are working on. The other one looked similar.

The customer declined tires

I wouldn’t drive that around the block. Needs an alignment and possibly king pins

Wow. Bad is an understatement. Hopefully he declined because he was just planning on getting tires from somewhere else. Even crazier that that’s on the steers

Must be an O/O is my guess, probably going on the cheap. Can't believe they let em get THAT bad jeeeze

I wouldn't drive a personal vehicle with tires like that !! My little '97 Suzuki Vitara 4x4 (a Sidekick in the US) Had tire as bad if not worse than those. Actually, 1 steer tires tread was coming off the casing. Having no tools here in Asia, I asked the kid to swap the brand new spare on the rear door, but he wouldn't....

First place I went was to a Goodyear tire store, and bought 4, brand new Yokohama off road tires....Shocked the tires were cheaper than they'd be back in the US lol (under $500 total)

Those cracks and wear are a big safety risk. Your dad's got a keen eye, hope the customer changes their mind soon for everyone's safety on the road.

My friend just had a PM done at our shop and the tech told her he found a nail in a drive tire that looked so much like a rock that he almost missed it himself. Guess I'll be taking a closer look at all the rocks mine have collected!
