Curious as to how many drivers, DO NOT even drain their air tanks every couple days or so??? lol

In my years, as a diesel tech, I'd seen far too many brake air cans, blow the service portions, diaphrams from not draining the tanks.

All the grime builds up inside, from moisture etc, and weakens the diaphrams to the point they tear open & fail

I hit the drains everytime I fuel. I generally get little to no moisture, but I do it evrrytime to be sure.

I saw a nice Kw T680 monday at a hotel in Thompson Ga that belongs to GA DOT. Marked just like the regular units. First I saw they have a semi.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

That time of year again. It's the same week my local police municipality is out in full force stopping everybody for everything. The DOT blitz is my reminder to be on my best behavior.

Funny, here in the mountains where we live, they do random check points. Local police had 1 for 2 days at the same spot at a curve. My Filipina, knows em all from her days at the local town hall job. They see her, and wave us thru, especially since I'm 1 of very few foreigners around these parts. 1st day I stopped, cop says' I need to look in your car"??? ok. Soon as he saw her and the kids, he was like "oh it's you, go ahead"

Told her laughing damn Hunny, it sure is good you know all the police around here lol

We went to take 100 lb bag of pig feed to her parents, tending our 4 piglets on the mountain over from us. I built a cement pig pen on their place for investment purposes....Yeah when I can buy 1 for $75, fatten em up 3 months, and resell for $250+ each 1 month and they are already tripled in sized lol
