Been at new company for 5 weeks. It does make you change your bad habits. Being local I know the roads well, but it takes a while to make yourself not touch your phone(while in craddle). Pretty annoying to see that blue light blink when you go over big bumps, etc.

I've been told my boss loves to do (coaching sessions). Still hate the fact it seems their getting tons of clips with their settings. I scratch my face a lot. That fricken light loves to go off.

Ours doesnt have a light like that. My friend got dinged 5 times in one day for stroking his beard.

I could see it helping new people. But i just dont pay attention to it anymore

I already panicked a little but was also rather impressed before I got to the word "beard"

Already had my first coaching session. Back to back days of following too closely. It was second nature with Schneider and not considered a critical event. That beep warning was just a usual noise for me. lol. I guess that's not an inward facing AI issue. lol.

Ours seems to put a lot of emphasis on following distance. I keep getting "starts" for safe distance.

I told my dispatcher to tell and schedule all his crappy drivers to drive nights. It will fix their scores quickly. Lol

Local days... camera won't give you a chance.

Dispatcher:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Welcome to the new world of trucking. Yes I work for a company that has cameras in/out non-stop while the truck is running and X time beyond shutoff , also with AI newly installed recently within the last couple months.

The company polices are kind of strict to start with so not much of a oh no. I've haven't seen nor experienced any repercussion from the cameras. #1 rule don't touch any electronic item while the truck is moving (your phone or tablet we use) if caught on video your fired ! #2 which is geo marked on all locations for roads, don't stop at a railroad, you're fired ! you might as well just turn around and go home cause you're fired ! The rest is all up to debate, and yes I mean TOUCH not use a electronic device can get you fired, handsfree bluetooth is a fired also.

They pay good so I'm cool about it

They use Ryder tractor rentals. It s more of a crapshoot inward facing camera setup. Going over bumps triggers it. In theory you can tailgate and speed however youre rolling the dice if a bump or something triggers it while following to closely.
