Hello John.
It’s a very nice thing you are doing for your friend. I hope he follows your advice and gets on here himself. There is a lot we can do to guide him along getting started and beyond.
What qualities does he have that would make him a good truck driver? How is his driving record? A clean driving record is always important but especially now when hiring is slower. The new ones who get the most help and are the most successful are the ones who give us the most background information.
BK, my man has to get his revoked DL reinstated by paying off some fines, I don't know for what exactly. I don't know if he has anything adverse on his driver record. He tells me he has a felony (which I think is total horse excrement) on his record for beating some punks up with a baseball bat who were actually caught stealing things on his own property! The said punks are lucky not to have been shot. Would any DUI/DWI history on his record be a deal-breaker?

Sorry JDB but having been an ENGINE builder/rebuilder, from Cummins, IH, Detroits,Cats to anything automotive, for 45+ years, there is a distinction between motors and engines as I previously stated hahaha. Don't matter the corporate names as you so kindly posted, "Motor Company" just flows better off the tongue in marketing....
The basic and main difference between motor and engine is that engine converts chemical energy of fuel into mechanical energy whereas motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Both these devices used for develop mechanical motion
Enough said, peace

With that said, Mr. Reno, peace, brother. Amen!
One more resurrection of Todd. I guess he will never give up.
I was just talking about him the other day. I was like, "Ya know, Todd hasn't come around in a while. It's usually every few months or so."

Dear Mr. Reno:
May I please politely explain to this board that it's General Motors, not General Engines. It's the Toyota Motor Company, not the Toyota Engine Company. States have the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), not the Department of Engine Vehicles. A "diesel motor vehicle" is just that; a motor vehicle with a compression-ignition power plant as opposed to a spark-ignition power plant or a rechargeable electric one.
Sincerely, Mr. Barrow
