I stopped driving at 10am. I have 41min left on my 70hr on duty. The clock says I'll gain 6hr. I've been in sleeper birth for 11hrs. When will I get that 6hrs back?

You would need to know when your company has the day set to roll over. Mine is midnight central time.

Your 8, 11, and 14 don't matter if you only have 45 mins to work with. The way logs work, is the least available time rules. In this case the 70 is dictating everything else.

NaeNae is correct on this. I didn’t know that the clock could be set to give back recap hours at different times of the day. Mine also works on the 1200 (midnight) time. So if I shut down at 1000 (am), went on SB, the 6 hours would be added at midnight. Meaning I would have to be in SB for 14 hours.

Just to mention, time zone affects this. Like NaeNae pointed out, my clock runs on Central Time. So if I’m in the eastern time zone, there is a one hour difference, so my recap would come back to me at 0100 rather than midnight, which would be midnight central time. I hope that makes sense.

ELD clocks are set to the time zone of the home office/terminal and recaps come at midnight for that time zone.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
