Hi Paul. I mean, I guess it's possible. I was sent a text message to pick 1 of 3 dates and times and one of the choices was for today, Sunday, July 7th at 11AM. I even got a text message an hour before I was supposed to get the call letting me know that I had 1 hour til the call.

Now, I know from IT experience that the text messages are automated and maybe there's a disconnect between the automation and actual live human beings. It's possible. Hopefully, I'll get a reply from my email early tomorrow.

It does seem weird it was scheduled for a Sunday. Did they specifically say Sunday? If not I’m wondering if they got their days mixed up and actually meant it for Monday

Oh yeah that’s pretty straightforward lol. Weird

I’d just call them tomorrow first thing. Idk about that company specifically but most bigger companies have a bunch of recruiters answering phones all day usually so you shouldn’t have any problem talking to someone tomorrow

Thanks Paul. Yeah, that sounds to be the best bet. Give them a call back during normal operating hours. I'll get up early tomorrow and do that. Thanks again!

I hesitate to speak for James, but the result was not favorable.

If anybody has suggestions for a possible company that he hasn’t already applied to, now would be a good time to speak up.

Has he tried western, may, second chance companies?

Hey all. I never did get the phone interview from US Xpress. I did get an email response from an email I sent to who was supposed to give the interview. I had asked if the interview could be rescheduled. She wrote back saying that she was unaware about the interview and she had looked at my application. She said that I would need 6 months of safe driving because my last employer discharged me.

Not that I've read it here, but I've seen online driver reviews of US Xpress and from what I've read that they hire immigrants that do not know (or barely know) how to read, write or speak English and they also hire felons. I've read that they are a last chance employer. I'm not sure if any of that is true, but if they do hire...for lack of a better term...bottom of the barrel employees...but, they won't hire me....then realistically, what are my chances of getting hired by anyone??? Is running over a curb, popping a tire and bending a rim as a trainee...the kiss of death? Am I now less desirable than those who can't read, write or speak English or former felons?

I honestly have no idea what to do now. I feel like a paperweight is more valuable now than my CDL-A license. At least a paperweight serves a purpose. No one will allow me to use my CDL-A license.

If anyone can think of anything....anything at all, please don't hesitate with a reply. Thank you!

Super bummer man. I would start looking at class B companies. Republic Services hauling trash. Whatever the local equivalent is. Heck even your local pepsicoke/beer beverage distributer. The worst they can say is No.

EPU:

Electric Auxiliary Power Units

Electric APUs have started gaining acceptance. These electric APUs use battery packs instead of the diesel engine on traditional APUs as a source of power. The APU's battery pack is charged when the truck is in motion. When the truck is idle, the stored energy in the battery pack is then used to power an air conditioner, heater, and other devices

Hi NaeNae. Yeah, basically put in everywhere and anywhere. Gotcha. Thanks for that. Yeah, I'm completely bummed out. I hope someday after X amount of time passes by that I could try again. I mean, is my CDL-A license blacklisted for life now? You know what....don't answer that.

James, we just need to re- group at this point. Just don’t give up. I have some ideas for you but don’t have time to post right now.

And no, you are not blacklisted. You are in a tough spot, not an impossible spot.
