Howdy!
This site is mainly to help beginners learn what it takes to become a company driver.
We have one owner operator and one that's a former mechanic. Stevo Reno is now retired and living in the Philippines, but if he sees this post, he may respond. Otherwise, we are company drivers that take our vehicles to the shop because many of them are under warranty.

An owner-operator is a driver who either owns or leases the truck they are driving. A self-employed driver.
Dion, do you even have to fix it? You have identified the problem, so sell it “as is” and inform potential buyers of the issue. That is what might work best if you are short on funds.
You could even disconnect it so air isn't even going to it. Just tell the buyer what you did. It's not something that has to be working. That way you don't have an obvious air leak when someone is looking at it.
Dion, with a quick google search, comparing the 2 "brands", I'd say YES you can use the cheaper of the 2 valves.....Both are exact same sizes, and ported the same. Only difference I see is 1, uses quick connects, the other uses the brass fittings. Which ya can probably change to what is used on yours...
Remember, most parts are actually made by 1 manufacturer, just get different company branded stickers on em....Also check the connections, maybe 1 port fitting is sloppy and seeps/ leaks air, especially a quick connect type..

Hello all you drivers out there making the world go round. Unfortunately, I had a catastrophic health problem come up and only 2 years into owning my truck with only 5 years on my license. So I never really made it out of greenhorn status as an OTR driver, and now I'm needing to sell my truck. My problem is when I went out to start it a few days ago it had air leaking behind the dash so after investigating it turns out it is the remote kingpin release valve. It becomes an issue when I look up a replacement valve is between 250 and $300 and I haven't worked in several months due to the health issue I was talking about. I have search time low for a kit of o-rings and seals to fix the ones that are obviously bad, but it doesn't appear one is available and none of the o-rings in my large collection of metric, SAE, AC, and miscellaneous will fit correctly and stop the leaking. The valve is a SAFholland xb-11744. My question is does anyone know if a HENDRICKSON VS-25224 3-WAY AUTO-RESET VALVE is a suitable replacement as it is much cheaper, I'm just not sure if it works the same and can't afford to try it to find out or doesn't. I'm pretty long-winded, so thank you to anyone that took the time to read this whole thing. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. And finally to all, God bless and keep you in the days ahead, keep the shiny side up and the dirty side down and keep it between the ditches.

Over The Road
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
