Did Orientation But Didn't Get Hired, Employment Verification Submitted

So I went thru orientation with one company, but didn't pass a hair follicle, they turned around and submitted an employment verification application to 4 sister companies. They won't hire me much less call me about my application. Can they do that? I thought I technically didn't work for them. So these other companies won't hire me because of my failed test with this other company. Can I do anything about this?????
Yes, they can. Trucking companies report what happened and then the insurance companies and other companies share the info as far as it pertains to hiring. There is a well developed network of information sharing. Failing a hair follicle test is very serious and can end a career.

It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.
"4 sister companies" sounds like they were actually, "trying to help" getting you accepted after orientation with an in house company they also own. Sucks, but, ya failed the test hopefully you can bounce back somehow.
Besides, they will and are required to report ANY failed drug test to the Clearing House/10 street apps companies use, and it will be seen there by any other company
As of now hair foicle tests are not reported to the clearinghouse, however it will go on the DAC report which will be a big problem with any company that checks DAC. It is a failed pre employment tedt not a DOT test.
DOT:

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
DAC:
Drive-A-Check Report
A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).
It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.
Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.
Years ago we had a woman here who took a drug test at her own doctors office and failed. 3 months later she tried to get into a training company. They knew about the failed test. She thought she was safe and it would be a HIPAA situation but it wasnt. She couldnt get hired at most companies.
