Hopefully this will not denigrate into a political issue.

There is a high likelihood of potential civil conflicts post elections according to many historical markers. To the point that vegas has very high odds on it, again, I'm not taking a stance on any side in it, just that there is a likelihood of violence, disruption of social services, transportation and infrastructure in a widespread area.

There are coalitions and groups that feel strongly that their opposition will not engage in the election process fairly, this polarized condition at a transfer of power point historically has been a major trigger for civil conflicts, in fact one of the primary reasons.

Given the conditions, I'm curious if anyone is making plans or at least doing a bit of preparation such as taking a few days off during the election and aftermath to wait and see what transpires, assuming there may be conflicts in Metropolitan centers. Or packing some extra water, food and provisions.

I'm also curious if companies are anticipating potential issues. It's certainly a vulnerable position to have assets in Metropolitan centers if widespread rioting, looting and conflicts, much less political violence erupts.

You always were off your rocker when it came to politics Bruce do no surprise there 🤣

I drive for the largest grocery chain in Chicago, the suburbs, and NWI. I’m pretty nervous about it. All of our stores typically get delivered to multiple times a day. It will still be business as usual this week as of now. We were given pad locks for the roll up doors.

Sine I’ve only been with the company a year and a half I’m still very much considered a new guy. I can count on it that I’ll be in the city at some point this week.

Davy wether we like it or not politics and societial issues play a huge role that we have to operate in like it or not.

Some will be too young to rememember the Los Angles riots in late april 1992. I was sent down there as a mutual aid request and it was horrific.

For our express purpose of looking back it was a truck driver by the name Reginald Denny we need to think about.

Denny was surrounded by a mob, or maybe some would call them mostly peaceful protesters.

He was stopped by them then pulled from the cab of his truck and severly beaten. He was even struck by someone with a cinder block. He was actually resecued by bystanders from the neighborhood. Otherwise they would have killed him. He had nothing to do with anything other than driving across their path.

This in no way possible could be viewed as anything other than a violent felony asssult and as citizens we have every right to defend ourselves from such actions, up to and including lethal force if we feel our life is in imment danger.

I do hope companies have a bit of fore thought before November and actually develop policies regarding this type of incident. As drivers we must stay viligant of our surroundings and play the what if game in our head. Develop your own safety plan for yourself.

The MN/WI/OR riots more recently show us how violent these situations are and history always has had a way of repeating itself.

Lol, yeah, call me a free thinker. To each his own and we’ll have to wait and see what, if anything, happens after the election. My hope is that there is no violence that will endanger anyone, regardless of their political affiliation.

I have an advantage in knowing my schedule for the most part through the end of the year. During the election and the days following, it looks like I'll have a lot of time to get from South Carolina to the L.A. area. Hopefully I'll be able to get home, or at least be in a quiet, out of the way area. But things can always change.

I'm taking the 6th and 7th off, to give myself a 4-day weekend. I'll be in my woods hunting, so the rioters will have to find me there. God help them if they do...

I always have provisions in the truck as well as a 72hr bag in case something did happen where I had to potentially be on foot for an extended period of time. There are other things to that I keep for my own personal safety.
