My butt gets sore not long after hitting the road. My seat is new but I still get sore in no time. Anyone else get sitting pain? I know these seats are made for durability but can't there be more attention to our health and welfare? What if there was a driver’s seat that actually prevented sitting pain? Would that be great or what? Just tossing it out there.

Steve, maybe it’s not the seat. Maybe it’s your butt itself. How much padding does your butt have?

Depending what model your driving the seats can be vastly different.

The stock seats in my Peterbilt were horrible. I installed legacy seats and made a world of difference. During the past year I started using a purple sear cushion and that made a big difference. As we age our ability to sit long periods change.

I don't know what is specifically causing your pain, but I can make a couple of suggestions. The first is to remove your wallet while driving. This simple step helps a lot of drivers who are experiencing back and butt pain while driving. Another issue is the way you have your seat adjusted. Try driving with the seat bottomed out. I drive with no air elevating my seat. I find the air ride cab gives me plenty of shock protection, and having the seat in that lowest position relieves any pain I may be experiencing because it allows my blood to circulate much better.

Steve, what have you tried to relieve the discomfort? How long do you typically drive before you take a break and walk around a bit?

It’s interesting how driving affects different drivers differently. Each driver has to try and find their physical comfort zone. Let us know if you find something that works well for you, who knows, it may work well for someone else who reads your solution.

BK just reminded me of a habit of mine. I typically stop every two and a half hours for a brief walk. Once again, this aids circulation.

Steve , wallet out of pocket that will help. Try sliding your lower seat cushion forward a little, and tilting it back or forward.( your lower seat pad will tilt- not just the seat back) that will help relieve some pressure off the tailbone area. Purple pads are good as well. I just changed over from a kenworth to freightliner. And had to play with it until I got my comfort spot back. I also run my seat a little low so it relieves pressure on my thighs from the front edge of the seat.

As a new driver, I experienced soreness and overall leg discomfort. Looked online and found seating advice on how to set up the seat properly. After obtaining the information, it took me probably a couple of months to finally get it dialed in for me. The suggestions you find online are a good starting point. I try to keep my thighs level with a little of space under my legs nearer my knees. The seat pad moves forward and backwards, so I just went with what support felt good without going in either extreme. The seat also tilts forward and back and found a position that doesn't have me falling forward or rearward. The back upright part of the seat I adjusted so I'm fairly upright without stressing my lower back. With that, I increase the air pressure in the lower back pillow just a little bit. It took a while, but it was worth the time to figure it out. Good luck to you!

Driving @ CRST I had a 4 inch memory XL twin foam mattress @ home I replaced. So I cut it to fit our bottom bunk, and the left over pieces, I cut out to fit the seat base cushions. So we used those on both seats and it helped a lot.. and didn't cost me diddly lol....Only draw back was teaming, so you had to readjust the seat when it's your drive shift
