Wilson Logistics wants to pair you with another person who just passed the CDL test and drive as a team for 30k miles. This just doesn’t feel like a good idea. What’s everyone’s thoughts on this?

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Wilson logistics is running identical programs with Prime trucking…I found out that Rob Lowe the owner of Prime was business partners and friends with the owner of Wilson. I just got off the road with Prime in a few weeks ago because I couldn’t sleep in a moving truck and I refused to continue to do the 30,000miles team training. Depending on where you live you might be able to find a company that doesn’t require you to do team training or makes the training a lot shorter. I also found out while at Prime that they are pushing drivers to lease if they want to go solo or drive teams for company.
