My current state is that I'm down 25# to 215 which at 6'4" and a large frame makes me feel pretty good. My bp is 106 over 70 and resting heart rate is 48. For 53 years old, I feel great and have no intention of letting myself go as so many unfortunately do.

Those stats are super impressive! Congrats to you on doing excellent work!

don't drink any soda or energy drinks or anything with fake sweeteners

Years ago I stopped putting sugar or creamer in my coffee, and switched to black coffee. That was not an easy transition, but I made it stick. I had considered artificial sweeteners for a bit but knew that wasn't any better than sugar.

I’m certainly intrigued by the diet but would have no idea where to start. Seems like it would be expensive to do on a regular basis. Am I wrong?

Well, there are two costs involved. The first, of course, is the cost of the food itself. The second would be the cost of medical treatments and lost productivity if you're unhealthy most of your adult life.

The second cost would be the greater of the two by far.

But you'll be shocked at how little you eat when eating carnivore. Last night, Tuesday, I finished my weekly 48-hour fast. I never eat from Sunday night until Tuesday night. So you'd expect me to go nuts and eat a freakish amount of food, right?

Well, I'm only 5' 7" and weight 150 pounds so I'm not a big guy by any measure, but even after 48 hours without food, and a four-mile run both Sunday and yesterday, I ate about 2/3 pound of steak, 1/3 pound of burger, and three eggs.

The steak was $7/pound, the burger was $5/pound, and the eggs are about $5/dozen.

So my food cost for the day was about $10.

You won't get prices that cheap in a restaurant, but you can certainly buy the food and cook it yourself in the truck with a Ninja Foodi or similar appliance.

Pork is incredibly cheap, and it's great for you. I bought a pork butt roast yesterday for $1.49/pound!!! You can get pork loin for that price as well, and it's boneless. Watch for sales on meat at the grocery stores. They have ridiculous sales.

I spoke with the people at the meat counter at my grocery store. I asked why pork was so cheap. He said that all winter long they'll get big shipments of pork about every three weeks and they discount it heavily. So I'm always on the lookout for great deals. Meat doesn't last long, so when they get a surplus, they have to mark it down aggressively. Take advantage and load up the freezer!

If you want to see sticker shock, try eating vegan, and I dare you to try organic vegan. You'll have to consider financing your meals!

You'll be surprised at how inexpensive it is to eat carnivore.

Wow I heard eggs were pricey in the US lol not here ! We pay $4.82 per a 30 Large egg flat, Beef be it ground or thin steaks etc is $8.50-9.50 per kilo = 2.2 lbs.....Just bought 4 more piglets last month, for our little "piggery" at her parents place. Pork here since it's a staple meat is cheap as well, around $1.50 a pound.

And our chickens are free, and roam free, until "feed time" might have 6 left running around, and Hen's usually have 8-12 chicks each. Lots of em running around and the roosters hahaha Country living

As is often the case, I made mention yesterday morning of Robert Kennedy Jr and his plight to improve America's health, and yesterday evening a big article comes out on Zerohedge about it:

Food Lobbyists Plot To Have It Their Way With RFK Jr.

Here is what I said previously about RFK Jr:

Robert Kennedy, Jr is leading the charge for a healthier America, but unfortunately, he will have to start from the wrong end of the spectrum. He won't just come out and tell people the truth like I have because look at what that gets you - a litany of hate and ridicule. Our society has been brainwashed for years to believe lies and to defend against people like myself who reveal the truth.

Instead, he'll start by trying to reveal the truth slowly about the most dangerous things, like poisonous food additives and excessive childhood vaccines. This slow roll of the truth will, unfortunately, drag this on for many years and allow the food and medical industries to prepare propaganda that leverages the existing brainwashing.

In other words, you'll see constant arguing and relentless personal attacks, but very little in the way of progress. It's too easy to confuse people with complex explanations, which is why I avoid that and try to get people to focus on experiencing it for themselves. Once you experience proper eating, no sinister arguments will ever dissuade you again.

Now if they wanted to be truly bold and daring, they would challenge Americans to take this much further by promoting a diet based on meat and eggs, consisting of two meals per day within 8 hours of each other.

So, from this Zerohedge article, here are some quotes:

RealClearInvestigations has learned that representatives of companies that make snack foods, sugary beverages, and cooking oils are already meeting to discuss how to thwart the reform agenda of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the former consumer rights attorney Trump has said he will nominate to lead the Department of Health and Human Services. Their response provides an early example of what experts predict will be a massive effort by D.C. lobbyists to position their clients in response to Trump’s pledge to change how Washington does business.

So, the food companies are well prepared to counter his complex arguments with even more complex arguments in an attempt to "out-explain" him. It will work, unfortunately. People are easily confused by words.

In recent months, [RFK Jr] has called for a crackdown on food additives, limits on certain crop protection chemicals, stronger guidelines regarding what he says are conflicts of interest among regulators and business, and a review of any substance causing, what he argues, Americans to be “mass poisoned by big pharma and big food.”

So again, a deep dive into complex science that probably can not be proven without millions of dollars of complex technology, and even then it probably can't be proven at all. But the arguments will frustrate anyone who tries to follow along. They'll eventually lose interest, order a pizza, and say the hell with it.

The "traditional agriculture and food stakeholders," Beck noted, "might look to leverage, you know, the appropriations process" to curb what Kennedy is allowed to "initiate or implement."

So, the food industry will try to prevent Kennedy from enacting his program.

As I've said, the answer to this problem will not come from explanations but from experience. If Kennedy would simply tell people what they should eat, the rest would take care of itself. He wouldn't have to worry about being overrun by complex arguments because that wouldn't be his tactic. We wouldn't have to worry about dangerous additives, pesticides, chemical fertilizers, or highly processed foods because people wouldn't be eating that stuff, anyhow. They'll eat meat, eggs, and dairy and be the healthiest they have ever been. Then, realizing they've been lied to their entire lives, people will seek alternative explanations for why eating a diet based on proteins and fats is so healthy.

For those of you who are eating healthy and want to encourage others, don't waste your time arguing. You won't convince anyone with your scientific prowess, no matter how powerful your understanding. Just encourage them to try it for themselves. If they won't try it, no amount of words would have mattered anyhow. And truth be told, almost no one will try it.

Even with the fantastic health I've achieved by simply eating steak and eggs all the time, most of my family and friends are fat, depressed, and on medications. I love the Holidays, but I dread seeing everyone so fat and sick and unhappy. It's incredibly upsetting watching people you love suffer needlessly.

Eat your meat and don't waste time arguing with people who don't care enough to even try it.

I have a bunch of chickens for eggs myself, and next year, I'm going to have pigs, meat chickens, turkeys, and possibly a couple of steers. I will also have dairy goats.

Country living!

I've noticed lately, after eating me a nice big burger I go like 20+ hours before hunger returns.....Made me a 1/2 lb (guess) burger, with cheese n salsa on top like a steak, no bun/bread. 4:30 pm wasn't hungry again til after noon the next day ! Even though I've never been a breakfast eater anyway, I just eat when I'm hungry at no set time of day or night.

We also seem to buy lots of fresh fish too lo,l my Filipina likes her dried fish blehhh..... @ least the seafood is very cheap here too, compared to the U.S. lol
