I heard about drive away from one of my co-workers who has a friend who has been doing this for several years. I’ve been trying to link up with the guy to try and figure out how I can transition into this from my current driving gig but the co-worker has been dropping the ball for a couple of months now. Is there anyone who would be willing to contact me so I can try to get this figured out?

A YouTube channel called "Truck and Travel" started out as a drive-away driver. You have to "page back" a while to see the drive-away. A few years ago they switched to expediting, yet another niche in the trucking industry.

ATC ATC Driveaway & Transport

I had no idea what driveaway is. I found a site that gives some information in case anyone else wants to know what it is.

I live in Missouri, and I’d like to get to where I could do the deck method, but need to figure out how to get into this before I can afford a pick-up and trailer

I drive for Truck Movers for a few months. Here's my story on Trucking Truth: Truck Delivery Driveaway

Independent Contractor (1099), you need double-triple endorsement.

I didn't last long because I didn't have the "drive" required to make decent money there.

Do you want to do RVs or Semi's and other larger vehicles? I wouldn't buy a pickup and trailer to do this for a long time, the market is very weak, Rvs and boat manufactures have a lot of layoffs this year.

Singles you don't necessary need a tow vehicle ( Flat tow only no trailer or dolly ) but it helps a lot sign up with at least 3 companies... you spend time planinng.... deck you fly a lot or rental car..... 1099 contractor unless you go Union Frieghtliner mostly made in Mexico, NC and Canada KW Chillicothe OH Pete... Denton TX IH Mexico and Springfield OH

Trucks from Mexico are picked up in Laredo, Von Ormy TX or Elmendorf, TX

You do not have to go to Canada unless you do deck for a Union Company

Deck you must have Doubles and triples and be mechanically inclined you have to undeck... except Truck Movers Have Hub only drivers ( pull into hub and get out of trucks )

Deck is the only thing that has Training singles you just learn

Face book has some deceit groups that you can learn from

Ive been doing decks for 3 1/2 yrs now

Doubles:

Refers to pulling two trailers at the same time, otherwise known as "pups" or "pup trailers" because they're only about 28 feet long. However there are some states that allow doubles that are each 48 feet in length.
