Pro’s: Gets pretty good fuel economy.

Con’s: First and foremost is the fact paccar locks the ecm. Mechanics that have the software to work on them cannot get into them without calling paccar, telling them exactly why they want into it, then and only then paccar will give them a code to get in if they agree the ecm needs accessed. That is garbage in my opinion.

My mechanic worked on one that had a code for a bad coolant sensor. Easy enough. Nope. He changed the sensor with a new one he ordered from paccar. After installing it the code didn’t go away. He called the tech line and was finally told the sensor had been changed and he would have to change some parameters in the ecm to accept the new sensor. They required him to send an email explaing why he needed access and if they agreed they would email him the code to get in. Took them 2 days to agree and send the code. Just one example. But I think you get the point. Take it to a paccar dealer or be prepared to wait on any repairs.

The overhead according to paccar needs ran every 100k or there abouts. That is nuts. If I wanted that frequency I’d buy a cat.

Parts admittely by paccar are more expensive and they recommend an inframe at 700k with a much higher price tag than a cummins or detroit.

It won’t apparrntly last as long as the others, costs are higher all the way around. Those are great reasons to not buy one in my opinion.

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
