Merry Christmas Brett! I’ve been apart of this forum since the summer and have found it very helpful and useful. Glad to be here!
As a newbie at one of the US majors, about 6 months in now, I fully expected to be working today. I’m very grateful and happy to announce I put in to have the Christmas holiday off and it was approved almost immediately! I got back to my yard and parked my tractor mid day on 12/23 and am enjoying a nice few days at home for the holidays! Lots of relaxing on the couch with movies, hot chocolate, and of course eating good food today! I’m also a gamer so lots of video games will be played as well! I’m in charge of making the big Christmas feast for dinner. Something I cherish being able to do since good home cooked meals are far and few between nowadays.
I’m off until 12/29 before I’ll hit the road again. So 12/23-12/29 is a very generous and welcomed break for the Christmas holiday! I worked Thanksgiving so I’m gonna milk this week for all that it’s worth!
Merry Christmas everyone!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
I returned home on 12/22, a day earlier than scheduled. Off until 1/3. Will visit family in SE Arkansas 12/26-12/29.
Had 2 deaths in family there recently in Oct and a couple days ago, so mixed feelings this Christmas.
I’m working on a local driving job opportunity to get off the road. Driving a dump truck (aggregate stone) and/or a concrete mixer. Will know at mid-January if I get it. Interview was positive.
Job requires minimum 2 years commercial driving experience with relatively clean record. I have 2.5 years now. Hourly pay rather than mileage pay starting at $22/hr.
Probably $20k less per year, but it’s time for me to be home to help my wife more.
I’ve achieved one of my goals to see the country having driven in 46 states (only missing the Dakotas).
I did a topic search here for “dump truck driving”. A thread came up from G-Town. As usual he provided great detailed info about how to be safe operating a dump truck compared to a tractor-trailer combo.
I had my whole gang here at the farm. We've had a high time! Merry Christmas to each of you!
Thanks for all you do, and the sacrifices you make daily.
Im on the road and been sick as a dog since yesterday morning. Being sick on the roaf sucks.
I am going home 12/30. Prime is having a christmas partt after new years.. go figure. And my million mile dinner is 1/27. They only do it once a year.
I got some great looking dresses though! Just gotta make it through the next few days.
Merry Christmas to all. And good luck Dennis!

Merry Christmas Brett.made in to the house Saturday, a day early, a welcome change. Have some family that flew in. And prepping the house for an upcoming renovation project. I’ll be back out after new years to pick up a new flatbed student and get moving. Finished off the year with 127k miles total.
Finished off the year with 127k miles total.
Hey Grinch, that's impressive!
I like seeing you guys hitting some good numbers like that.
Hope everyone had a great Christmas. I got home last Wednesday and I'm staying home til the 5th. After only being home a handful of times over the last seven months, I figured it was time to spend some time here.
Merry Christmas All!!
I took a week of vacation. Went to the in laws yesterday. Spending the rest of the consuming eating sugary carbs, meat, and distilled liquor.
