Howdy, welcome back. Not sure if you kept your med card and CDL up. If you didn't, obviously, you would need to go through the process from scratch. Even if you did, you would pretty much need to start over though, as you would have a stale CDL.
Did you leave the company you were with on good terms? Any accidents or incidents? Any drug, alcohol and or speeding tickets?
Also, do you have work history in the gap? All these things will need to be addressed. Assuming you are clean recordwise, have work history and are on good terms, I'd see if you could rehire and go through training again, although I'm guessing at 8 months, you didn't finish out a contract if that's the route you went to obtain a cdl.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Driving While Intoxicated
Prime would do an evaluation on you. Either you advnace to team training or you start from scratch without taking full dot exam
A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

Looking for advice. I drove for about 8 months and then quit. I haven’t driven since October 2021. I could call different companies but wondering if someone here might be able to tell me what I might expect be required before I could go solo again.
