Schools often have short waits espically this time of year. I’m guessing you applied before thanksgiving. Then shortly after we hit the christmas/new years time frame. Now that we are past the holidays they will be getting back to normal.
Have you applied anywhere else or had other offers?? I don’t see why they couldn’t give you a rough estimate of a class start date. I would share my feelings with the recruiter about the situation and tell them I was going to start looking elsewhere. You can’t wait on them forever. If they are really interested in you that might just give them a nudge to get you onboard.
Well I been waiting for a solid year
If you have been waiting a year then something is going on. Hiring has been slow to non existent with alot of companies the past 2 plus years, but to lead you aling without a deeper explanation is beyond unreasonable in my opinion.
Start applying to other companies and see who else is interested.
I would agree, unless he is in a geographic location with restricted hiring (Prime does this with FL, and the number of FL residents it has on at any given time)
Either way, I would apply everywhere, and choose from those who choose you
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
Maverick called today again and told me the same thing again. I was told that I am approved and waiting on a start date and they would call me as soon as they get one, but really why the long wait
I live in Lawton Oklahoma and I applied for the glass division
Hello everyone!
I'm sorry I never followed up, but I finally received the call from Maverick today with my onboarding and DOT physical dates. Assuming everything goes well with my physical, I am to report in on February 9th.
I asked my recruiter about the waiting list again, but she didn't offer much. She did make mention of my position (regional Atlantic flatbed) and said something to the effect of, "I'm sure you've been waiting a while".
So, maybe it was the position itself that was the hangup? I'm not entirely sure, but I am beyond relieved to finally get this ball rolling.
Anyway, thanks to everyone who responded! Lord willing, I'll continue to be an active member moving forward!
Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.

Good morning, everyone!
New to Trucking Truth, so I hope this is the correct forum for my question. I am currently on the waiting list for a spot in the Maverick CDL training program, but I'm curious how long people usually wait for a spot to become available. I got the application started back in November (everything came back perfect, no issues) and receive updates from my recruiter every couple of weeks stating that they're just waiting on an opening. Unfortunately, my recruiter is not able to give me any information on an estimated timeframe. In fact, I was told that that kind of information is strictly internal. Is this unusual or par the course for Maverick? I've heard great things about the company and the quality of the CDL training they offer, but I also don't want to be on the hook for an indiscriminate amount of time.
Thanks for your time!
