As for your CDL. Bigger companies are going to consider it stale and you have no experience. With them they will start you all over, if they give you a shot. You would have to discuss the area availability with them because that is going to be company specific.
You could look through local want ads or craigslist and see if a small carrier to that area is hiring. They tend to be more flexible on your license. Just depends if there insurance carrier would accept you.
Working for small carriers can be a coun toss. Maybe a good fit or a complete disaster. They don’t have the resources of the big ones and often operate on a shoestring. There are some good ones out there but you have to usually dig to find them.

I have had my CDL A right at 2 years. I have been helping take care of my father. My DOT card is current and my driving record is perfect. I did 2 weeks otr with WEL. I need to stay in the southeast area. What are my options?

Over The Road
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
DOT:
Department Of Transportation
A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
