You'll enjoy Prime. Great company. I'm an instructor at Prime. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer quickly.

Thank you! That is good to know. I could see becoming an instructor once I have the experience necessary. I like teaching.
She just sent it to "verifications." (feelings of anxiousness)
Brett....I bragged on your site to them. I imagine they will add your site to the list of "how did you hear about PRIME?"
They should have added my site to that list about 5 years ago. We've been sending a steady stream of people that way for years now.
I know one thing is that they no longer are requiring the PERMIT to be obtained before going. Because of the endorsements needed (TANKER included) they have decided it best to be done there. I asked about the DOT physical and that too is being done there at the training site.
Actually I don't believe they ever required you to get a permit first but it's highly recommended that you do. That way you don't have to sit in the classroom studying for days. You'll already know the material and you'll immediately move on to the next phase of training right away.
Also, our High Road Training Program covers all of the endorsements also. So there isn't anything they're going to teach at Prime that we don't already teach to get the endorsements.
And the DOT physical was always done at their site. By Federal Law they have to give you a DOT physical before they can hire you.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

Oh, I am definitely preparing ahead to at least be ready to take the test first thing when I get there, if not before I go. the High Road Training Program has been very helpful. in doing so. I will be through it all soon and then I will just keep reviewing and practicing the questions so I sail right through the test.

Well, according to my recruiter, the only thing not back on the verification process is the Alabama DMV report and I know that's not a problem, so I think I will get the green light tomorrow. This week will be crazy as I set my residence up at my son's house (just using a bedroom for when I am there). So my expenses will be my truck and insurance and my cell phone. No housing expenses. That's a lot of stress of the income need. I will actually be able to save money once I get past the training phases.
The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.
Randy one thing you may need to know is this. You can save yourself a lot of headache if you already have your permit in haend and are self certified with your medical card through your home state. When I went to the Prime PSD portion back in Feb. there were only a handful of us that had done that. It allowed those of us who had to get a jumpstart on the hand-on pre-trip inspection by several hours.
A pre-trip inspection is a thorough inspection of the truck completed before driving for the first time each day.
Federal and state laws require that drivers inspect their vehicles. Federal and state inspectors also may inspect your vehicles. If they judge a vehicle to be unsafe, they will put it “out of service” until it is repaired.
A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).
It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.
Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.
Prime Inc has a CDL training program and the first phase is referred to as PSD. You'll get your permit and then 10,000 miles of on the road instruction.
Prime’s PSD begins with you obtaining your CDL permit. Then you’ll go on the road with a certified CDL instructor for no less than 75 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training. After training, you’ll return to Prime’s corporate headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, for final CDL state testing and your CDL license.

I'm working on it. Thanks!

Talked with a recruiter this morning first thing by calling in to them. Had a great conversation and help from her. She told me to apply online and call her back and she would expedite my application. She is working on it as I type this. She said I could expect an answer very quickly and might be able to start as soon as Monday, if I am ready to go by then.
Will be working on what I need to do before leaving and getting ready to go this week....expecting a yes!
I want to thank those on here that have helped me learn a lot in a short amount of time about this career and the process of getting there.
Brett....I bragged on your site to them. I imagine they will add your site to the list of "how did you hear about PRIME?"
She wanted to see it so she could compare the info.....some of it has just changed. I know one thing is that they no longer are requiring the PERMIT to be obtained before going. The application process was not bad. I was able to complete it fairly quickly.
