Just get a signed letter from him stating you were working for him during those times.
This next part I am going to say though I know it was not done....get your tax paperwork from when you filed taxes working for your brother. He should have issued you a 1099 and that can be use to prove you were working.
It won't be a big deal as long as you have some sort of recent work history - namely the past 3 years. That's what they'll be looking at the most. Their main concern is people who haven't worked in years. It's not tragic if you've jumped around a bit or whatever, but not working at all (or hardly working at all) is not something they like to see. Some companies set limits on how long you can be unemployed, but a less-than-stellar work history is not going to keep you from getting into trucking.
And companies do have different ways of verifying "unverifiable" work histories like you have with your brother. When you apply for work, tell them about it and they'll let you know what you can do to verify that you were working. Usually it's a signed or notarized letter of some sort.

I was wondering about my employment history. I don't have outstanding work history, usually I would work at a place from 3-6 months at a time. There was also an a whole year where I can't provide any verifiable work. I was working but it was for my brother as a general laborer and I was paid cash. how bad will that hurt me?
