I was just checking my emails through my driver portal. I see one in there from my otr training. We had a tire blow out on the hwy from no fault of mine. Just driving..Well the tech mechanic called Swift about a bent rim. I didnt see a bent rim jjst an old looking one. So I assume Swift thinks I hit something. Hence the fact they wanted me to take photographs.. This feels unfair.. It was just a blowout probably due to road conditions, tire condition and weather changes..
You have nothing to worry about or should not have anything to worry about. More and more companies are demanding pictures so they have proof of what is being said and to backup any claim that needs to happen for insurance purposes. I would not worry to much about it.
Just something to think about ...most times rims don't get bent due to a simple tire blow out. It takes a lot to bend a rim. Not saying you did anything but the pictures were asked for to see what might have caused it. Pothole maybe. Bad road conditions.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
