About a year ago I started looking into getting my CDL , went online, sifted through a lot of different sites, and landed on The Trucking Truth. This changed me and my families life. Went through the high road series, asked questions on the forum, studied and studied and passed my test to get my permit. I Got a job with a beer company where I was able to get some driving experience and eventually passed my CDL, but wanted more. So, I did more studying on the high road series and got my endorsements. Started applying at some oil and gas companies and landed an awesome job with a Fracing company. I have been there 3 months and am making double to triple the amount of money that I was making at my other jobs. A year and a half ago I never even thought about getting a CDL, I had never been in a rig. After looking at jobs online it seemed that there were more jobs with CDLs than not. So that is where it started and The Trucking Truth helped me achieve my goals. Thanks again, y'all have made a huge impact on me and my families life:)

Hey, BJ - Great to hear from ya!

I remember when you first came in here, and remember responding to some of your posts. Glad to hear you landed a great job. Are you staying in Texas or are you getting over into Louisiana any? I have a friend from Nacogdoches who is driving a water truck, but most of his work is actually done in Louisiana. He's making great money and has been doing it for about three years.

Hi BJ and All,

Congrats on finding the right path for you and your family! You give me/us hope!

I agree with your assessment and appreciation for Trucking Truth as well. I've recently had to reconsider my job and decided to quit. My guy is in the same boat. After seriously talking about the idea of team driving with my guy,weI began to do a lot of research. I too "stumbled" upon Trucking Truth and have found the information on this site, the Q's & A's on the forums and the trucker's blogs extremely helpful. We have yet to start CDL school, but it should be in a few weeks. We're trying to be as prepared as possible so we're not totally blindsided when we get there. Trucking Truth has been the best and most valuable resource I could have come across for us to glean from others from both the newbies and the experienced.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to Trucking Truth because you have made our decision to team drive a open eyed decision. I know there are things we will only understand as we live them on the road day after day, week after week. But, for now, we're both psyched to keep headed in the direction of getting our CDLs and begin team driving very soon!

Hey Old School, yah I remember your responses and advice and I appreciate them. We are currently working in college station. That is where the majority of our work will be. I live in the Longview area and I have been home maybe 4 times in the last month. It's a crazy schedule, crazy hours but we are about to start a 2 weeks on 1 week off. So, when that happens I'll be able to spend some much needed time with the family:)
