Hey bro, your pictures are extremely valuable in learning the pre-trip, without a tractor/trailer, and I am VERY thankful for what you did! Do any of you all know of a book or books, that could be used, to go deeper, beyond the minimum checks. For instance, when checking the oil level, it is wise, to check out how thick or thin the oil is. That is not mentioned, in the class A manual. It is better to fix a problem, early, than having down time, which equals death of the business, or bordering on it.
Thanks in advance, all!
Chris
No, don't worry about the viscosity of the oil. You would have to be a chemist to do that. Just do what Daniel says and don't add needless worries to it.
Daniel, what you posted is an incredible resource. Thank you for your time and effort.
That is waaaay over thinking the pretrip just do the bare minimum and do not over think it.

I have my own truck and don’t get that deep in the weeds during a pre-trip. The company you drive for will keep up with the scheduled maintenance intervals.
Hi, I will be starting with Prime in a couple of weeks. Thanks to the HRT on here, I was able to do good on the written permit tests. Now I'm getting ready to study this pre trip inspection study guide. It looks awesome and very informative...thanks for the hard work that went into it.
I have a question: is this still the updated checklist/wording for Prime's pt inspection? Has anything changed or been modified?
I want to be as prepared as I can be before I get to Prime.
Again, thanks for this.
Daniel,
I just wanted to thank you for taking what was obviously a tremendous amount of time to put this together. I will soon be going back out on the road again after having driven a city bus for about 7 years. I used to know the pre-trip like the back of my hand, but needless to say, after that much time away, I am rusty on a few things. These guides of yours were just what the doctor ordered for me, and I'm sure they will be an invaluable resource for new drivers as well. Your time and effort spent in making these guides are greatly appreciated! THANK YOU, SIR!
I had Daniel B's awesome pre-trip guide bound into a booklet at my local OfficeMax. It makes for an easy way to study while on the go! Also, it always helps me to see something in paper rather than just the screen.
Oops, guess I didn't upload the photo properly!

Lol! Glad you like the idea. It was very easy to get it made: I just uploaded it through the OfficeMax online portal, paid a little extra to get it put in a booklet rather than just printed and stapled, and then I picked it up the next day! In my area, they even would've delivered it to me (for an extra fee, of course!). Sorry to hear about your transpo issues!
