Not sure what 10% pay cut would bring you down to but since it was not said the first year you will GROSS right around 28k to 33k depending on the company you go with. Only you know what your state and federal taxes will be roughly so you should be able to figure out a close net income.
Once you have that number compare it to what they offer you. But here is the deal. The damage has already been done. You company is out sourcing your job and somewhere inside you are saying "WTF!?". You have started looking elsewhere I.e. trucking as an alternative. In your mind you have already moved on and it's only a matter of time before your body realizes your mind already left.
It sucks to loose a job like that but during takeovers/buy outs the buyers never really want to keep the higher paid people and with that in mind you will find things that they do you will start seeing just suck.
Might as well take the 14 week check and join the rest of us out here that are working to support the entire country.
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

No doubt about it. I'm so ready to take the money and run! It was a pretty easy job that I didn't mind doing but the most I ever got for a raise was 2%, and now they will probably take away the last 7 raises I have gotten and then some. Trucking will most definitely give me the potential for making more money and the job security I need too.

Well....they will probably REALLY low ball you, since the only reason they grab up outsourced work is to make money off it..and cutting costs is the main way to make fast money...they will smile and EXPECT you to be so desperate that you will take any wage just to keep a paycheck coming in...I've always enjoyed telling those people that I hope they can get someone to replace me who has all the knowledge and work ethic that they don't feel like paying for by offering me a reasonable wage..... Good luck, and be sure and tell us what goes on.
Well we were wrong. They offered me a position at 1/2 a cent more an hour, so I can not get the severance. I did not see that coming. Then we find out how much the health insurance is. I pay about $110 a month for my family with a high deductible plan now and the new company's insurance is $1508 a month for my family. That is almost half of my pay!
So I told them where to stick it and will be done working for them August 1st, should be starting school with Swift August 11th. It's a shame cause I will probably have to use some of my 401K or pension money to get by till I begin earning a paycheck.
