You're doing just fine. You're not handicapping yourself by being at Swift - Swift is a great company to start your career with. You landed the job, now go out and proof to them that you were a great hire and you can be a safe, reliable driver for them!

I started with swift 2 years ago. Did the school in phoenix in July 2012 finished 3 weeks later, did orientation in Aug and met my mentor, did 5 weeks with him (good guy still talk to him too) and did 9 months with swift as a solo driver. I have small complaints with them (they kept me away from home a few times and left me with no load for 3-4 days in Dallas) but over all I had a solid DM that helped me with the tough times. They are a good place to start.. Just plug away, always ask for the next load before you drop the one your on... Worked well for me. Kept me 85% busy.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
