Looks cool..I like it.. is there a key to the symbols??
is there a key to the symbols??
Not yet. There will be in the final version.
Well, I think it looks good..it's pretty self explanatory although, I was kinda wondering what the parking designations meant. L parking, M parking etc..
Damn, sometimes I can be kinda dim... realize now it means Small Medium or Large parking lots...
Yap - small, medium, large. When you click the "More" button at the top and the details are listed, the first blue square has a number in it and says "Parking" at the bottom - that's the exact number of parking spots the truck stop has.
Once you're on the road you'll see that you'll be looking for at least medium or large truck stops whenever possible. The small ones are often times more like gas stations with a few spots for trucks to park, though not always.
Ok, I just wanted to update this to let people know it seems to be working on Internet Explorer 9 & 10, and on Firefox.
I'd really like a few of you that are on the road to give this thing a look and see what you think so far. Thanks!
Looks good on my tablet only thing is there are only 3 places that allow truck parking on i81 exit 52 in carlisle,pa that's the flying j,loves, and petro. My home terminal is there that's how I know.just wanted to keep ya updated.gables sold out to blue beacon.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Ok, I'm in the process of rewriting my truck stop app and I'm at a good stopping point. I want to let people try it out and give me some feedback before going further. Just a few notes:
1) This was designed to be fast. It takes a moment to load the data initially but once it's loaded it should feel very responsive. It will work on any modern smart phones or tablets, and will work on laptops and desktops on Google Chrome or Apple's Safari only. (It may work on other browsers in the future).
2) No fancy-pants interfaces with fancy visual effects and confusing navigation. Just simple & to the point.
3) Designed to give you the most important things you'll want to know at a glance - truck stop name, exit number, size of parking lot, whether or not it's a major truck stop chain, and your current distance from the truck stop if your device has your GPS location and you give the app permission to use it.
4) When you're looking at the list of truck stops, there is a button at the top labeled "More". Click that button to view more details about the services and restaurants available at each truck stop. You can then click "Less" to go back to the original view.
5) At the moment I have not included map views, navigation, or the ability to search an area for nearby places like malls, restaurants, Walmarts, etc. Those can easily be added but I wanted feedback at this point before going further.
So have a look and see what you think. I've tried a ton of truck stop apps and I've found the overwhelming majority of them to be complete garbage. Their information is highly inaccurate, they are organized in a way that makes it very difficult to locate the truck stop you're looking for quickly, and they are unstable causing them to crash a lot. However, if you know of an app that you really like, give me the name of it and tell me what you like most about it so I can check it out.
