Just want to let everyone know that in a few weeks I'll bring the bolt with me on the road again.
In the meantime, if you haven't read through this thread I urge you to do so - you won't regret it!
So glad it's been bumped. Totally enjoyed it and look forward to more pics. I have a folding bike from my Chicago Commuter days that has been sitting in my garage for the last few years. Hmmm... I hadn't thought of taking it on the road before now. :)
Now that spring has sprung in most places, any updates coming soon on this thread? Is anybody other than Daniel going to get a bike mounted on the rig this year?

My apologies Ralph. I completely missed your post from a month ago, must be a side effect from getting old.
Ralph, your bike is clearly bigger than mine and because of this it'll be easier to strap it. Just remember to not only use bungees as it won't be legal like that. Use some kind of strap, bike chain to go with the bungees.
My DM knows I have my bike and it doesn't bother him. I don't see it ever bothering them unless you get a ticket for poor securement.
And I haven't taken my bike yet. It's spring, just not where I drive ;)

You mean that you do not have any snowshoe photos? What's wrong with riding around in this kinda weather.
I know you are busy busy bee... but any updates on bike rides so far this summer? Bueller?
Hey Daniel great pics on page 1! I don't have time to look through all 9 pages, but I have a question which may or may not have been asked yet: where do you keep the bike when you're driving? Do you haul it up into the sleeper or something? Do you have it mounted to the back of the tractor? Inside the cargo area on your trailer? I'm just curious, I'd like to bring a bike with me to so I can have a little more mobility when I'm stopped at truck stops and whatnot, but I'm not sure where I would put it.
Ralph, no bike rides this summer. I'm spending my weeks training students.
TPC, I have a long detailed answer to your question in one of the pages. Take a look at all of them you're missing out by just looking at Page 1.

Daneil, that's a bit of a Bummer.... :( But I completely understand why, I recall you mentioned elsewhere you are trying to make extra money to move soon. Also helps that Prime desperately needs all the excellent trainers they have to keep up with the newbies coming out of class. Guess I'll have to take some pics on my own bike rides here in Florida to share with the group and hope you are able to get out on some rides maybe next year, will look forward to seeing more pictures then.
Bump. Has anyone else been bringing their bike along? I know it's winter for most of you, but I'm in Florida so that doesn't compute.
My partner is interested in biking during free time. Would it be a bad idea to strap two bikes back there? Bungies AND chains, mind you. Thanks for the info, Daniel B.

Hey Daniel, I hadn't thought to post this before, but looking at the pics of your bike strapped to the back of the truck makes that dirt bike look dinky small! lol :) I myself ride a "29er" 29" Mountain Bike and wonder how well that would fit on the back of a truck. Below is a picture of the same model bike I have at home. Also, I've been wondering if your DM or anybody at your company has said anything about you having a bike on the truck?
Dm:
Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager
The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
