Yea that might be tough man. One I can see, maybe even a couple, but four is going to be tough to get past. Just keep applying and if you really want this, go get your CDL and see what happens..
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
You might have to get hired on local (like a farmer's Co-op) or something like that. Some schools do help, because some companies ask schools if there are students looking for work. I had to put in a lot of apps after I was fired from my first company.
Where are you at?

Not far from you. In Bellevue ne. I'm truly heart broken right now. Not sure what to do from here on out. Really wanted otr. Thanks for you replies. Sucks. That there can be changes in ppls lives and can't get another chance . I guess it comes down to the.old addage "you make your bed, you lie in it". Guess I'm lying in **** now.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Ouch. I'm sorry to hear that. But hey man, don't give up just yet. Keep applying, and keep applying. Maybe someone will take a chance on you. Just be upfront about everything when you apply. Hopefully something will work out.

Don't do that without a job waiting for you. Having a CDL does not mean you'll land a job. Definitely keep pushing hard for pre-hires from someone. You may indeed find luck with a local farmer or an owner-operator whose willing to take a shot or something. You never know.
And that local school should be helping you without you having to commit to attending there. If they're telling you "Just enroll in school and then we'll find you pre-hires" tell em to go take a flying leap. If they're not willing to help you without enrolling then just keep at it yourself.
Check on Craigslist.org ... you'll find a lot of owner-operators and small companies on there looking for drivers. You might find someone willing to give you a shot.

Pre-hire letters are acceptance letters from trucking companies to students, or even potential students, to verify placement. The trucking companies are saying in writing that the student, or potential student, appears to meet the company's minimum hiring requirements and is welcome to attend their orientation at the company’s expense once he or she graduates from truck driving school and has their CDL in hand.
We have an excellent article that will help you Understand The Pre-Hire Process.
The people that receive a pre-hire letter are people who meet the company's minimum hiring requirements, but it is not an employment contract. It is an invitation to orientation, and the orientation itself is a prerequisite to employment.
During the orientation you will get a physical, drug screen, and background check done. These and other qualifications must be met before someone in orientation is officially hired.

Put in an app for pre hire to werner. Got a call this morning and they wanted to ask a few questions.told them my last DUI was in 2001 and I've had a total of four with that said they said there was no way they would hire me.so I called a few other companies and got the same response. local school claims that they can get me pre-hire letters but I am very cautious.any ideas or suggestions would help but I don't see this as 2 coming to fruition.
