It's going to be very difficult getting started with a recent felony for sure. Unfortunately you were given bad advice, more than likely by the school who was happy to take your tuition money knowing you wouldn't likely find work afterward. That's a shame, but what's done is done.

So, the only thing you can do is apply like crazy to every job you can find. For starters, we have an awesome job listing. Do a search by zip code for best results and fill out all the apps you like:

Truck Driving Jobs

Also, have a look at Craigslist.org ... they often have smaller companies and owner operators advertising jobs that might be more willing to give you a shot.

But that's all you can do - keep applying relentlessly until you find someone willing to give you a shot.

Owner Operator:

An owner-operator is a driver who either owns or leases the truck they are driving. A self-employed driver.

OWI:

Operating While Intoxicated

Sometimes, it really depends on what the felony is. But if you can't get on with a OTR company, try a local company that is small, say a gravel hauler, farm stuff, just anything to get your foot in the door, and put some time between you and that felony..... Good Luck, and if you have any other questions,,,,just ask, we'll help all you can.

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
