Items a flatbed driver needs during winter and items on my truck. I going to be starting solo in the winter time. And I would like to know from the vets that Been in the -20 and having to strap down the load. And the things that I might need during my trips.
You will need everything you have during the summertime and the only thing you can really add is a ton real warm clothes. For flatbedders the only difference between summer and winter is the temp.
Pretty much what Guyjax said. Warm clothes that can be layered. I would also recommend some water proof gloves. Your hands will still get painfully cold, but not so fast. Some sort of hand cream ( bag balm, etc) for chapping due to cold and salt.
One hint, if driving on snotty roads and it is going to be below 10*, move your ratchets to clear out the slush before it freezes. Otherwise they won't beoving until you are inside or get father south. Learned that one the hard way. Prefer the cold to the heat.
