We keep talking about the variety of loads that flatbedders haul and I thought that maybe we could make a thread with photos of the variety of things that gets tied to a trailer.

I will start with a load that I hauled today.... prefab walls for a house that is being built. Apparently it is cheaper to make and ship the walls than to build on site.

Not sure... those could have been SIPs (structural insulated panels). Factory built in environmentally controlled factory. High precision, uniform results, quick assembly onsite are the major benefits. Low waste and recycling of most scrap too. They can be made from a CAD drawing with door and window openings pre-cut. Very good choice for tiny houses, DIY builders, etc..

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

One of these days I'll find some straps to throw over my tanker/take a picture and finally post in this thread.😁

rofl-1.gifrofl-1.gif Yes Sir, four wing nuts on the dome lid, 10 seals on all the openings and that load is secured. Tarps? Straps? Chains? I'll have to google these terms...

If I had to guess, probably for a D11T Dozer. The complete unit weighs in between 230-240,000 depending on the blade and rear attachment. They're a blast to operate.

They would need a crane to change a track. Holy crap!

Here's another load of nice shiny metal, formed into interesting shapes. I'm pulling it out of the HYDRO plant in Cressona, PA. It's the only place I go that is harder to get out of than Rainy's dungeon.
