Copper out of Arizona
Nice! Is that out of Buckeye?
Freeport McMoRan. Morenci.
By the way it was a pain in the ass finding the shipping location. The Qualcomm GPS wanted to take me to a vacant dirt lot. The phone number they gave me for the shipper never answered. And as you may know the mining operations cover a broad area with several facilities. Google Maps had a location that was labeled as truck loads so that was my best guess considering that there was a flatbed and a lot of really really shiny blocks on the satellite view. I guessed right.
The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.
I used to pick up copper at Morenci quite often. Most of the loads I got from there went to Connecticut. What was your destination with that load? Depending of the grade of the copper you get there, those loads can sometimes be fairly high value.
I'm headed to McKinney Texas. The BOL says grade 55.
Hey Jo!
Hope you figured out if you wanted to do flatbed or not in those 6yrs since you posted ;) I’m on my 6th month as a driver, and I went straight to flatbedding Can/US, smack in the middle if winter, and I absolutely love it! You have to enjoy working a sweat and being a safe worker. It’s super easy to get hurt throwing straps, chains and tarps around. Everybody has a gazillion tricks and tips to get it right, quick and without hurting the body so much.. chat up other drivers, you’ll get good and smart fast! :)
Here are some loads I hauled.. I should take more pictures!
Thanks for all the pics, Pat! Really cool to see the variety of things you deal with. Flatbed is looking more and more interesting. Do you ever see any women in the field?

Welcome to TT and thanks for sharing the pix; we LOVE this stuff, jsyk!!
Man, that 'last' pic.. those chains.. sheesh; I'm not LIKING THAT one bit. Well, if it's legal, I guess it rides, eh ?!? (Is it ?!?)
Again, thanx from the TT trucker's wife / cheerleader!! Hang around & post more! We love flatbed stuff; don't get enough, imho .. it's the HARDEST of 'em all. I pulled tanks for a bit, with my other half.
Stick around, please!

It’s legal even without those extra chains blocking the front and back from sliding as I brake/ accelerate. I put them on for my own sanity haha, i should’ve asked the loader to line ‘em up better that’s for sure. Lessons every day ;)
Thanks for the welcome! TT has answered so many questions when I started thinking about trying out trucking last year.. and it’s full of fascinating stories and a great, helpful community. I’m glad this forum exists :)
Hope to keep growing alongside all of you for a good while :) Cheers!

Welcome aboard TicTac - it's great to have you in here!
I see a fair amount of Canadian flatbed drivers in Cressona, PA picking up loads at the Hydro (formerly SAPA) plant there. Have you had that pleasure yet?

Haven’t been in that city of PA yet!!

Spotted these two tanks of some type being hauled the other day somewhere in Montana. A puller and a pusher on each end of the trailer. Check out those trailers: 12 axles on each X 4 tires on each = 48 tires. Make sure you check the tire pressure on each one, then later this afternoon, you can check out the tractor tires!
