I met a guy who seems very happy working for a freight broker. Sounds better than my OTR gig. Anybody know anything about this?
I was offered a position working as a broker but when I looked into it they wanted me to know Companies and Drivers that I could call to get loads. So pretty much I had to also bring my own Clients. It's not as easy as you think, you don't just sit there and wait for people to grab your loads and you make $$$.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Anyone can come in and make money with a ready made list of people but if you want that job more than likely you will need to bring in your of clients and customers. Brokers have a sweet gig and they are not going to just give you there source of money.
Besides in my opinion brokers are worse than liars and I can't stand liars.
