Is the mattress in a sleeper cab comparable to a twin size bed? Wondering what size / type of bedding to bring once I get my own truck. How homey can you actually make it back there and still be practical? Any great tips from the experienced folks for things to bring along to make life easier and cleaner? kinda, a twin is a bit bigger but it will work..just a bit loose. as far a making it homey, depends on the size of sleeper and whatnot. some trucks can be made to be quite "warm" and homey. basics would be TV, lots of pillows, mini fridge, and microwave. Cleaning supplies keep it basic and SIMPLE less is more. Paper towels, window wash, and an all purpose cleaner. O and an air freshener.
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Good question Deb! I have been wondering the same thing myself!
Ditto ref good question!
Different brands of trucks have different sized mattresses....so to be safe, use jersey sheets !!! They stretch...and I like them, they wash/dry fast, are cool in the summer, and will always be a little warmer feeling in the winter, for some reason. If your truck is equipped with a fridge, thats a great savings for you !!! you can keep perishable foods. If your truck has an APU ( Auxiliary Power Unit) You have been blessed !!!!
On tractor trailers, and APU is a small diesel engine that powers a heat and air conditioning unit while charging the truck's main batteries at the same time. This allows the driver to remain comfortable in the cab and have access to electric power without running the main truck engine.
Having an APU helps save money in fuel costs and saves wear and tear on the main engine, though they tend to be expensive to install and maintain. Therefore only a very small percentage of the trucks on the road today come equipped with an APU.
I use my kids old twin sheets just regualr old twins. They work in my KW and my Freightshaker so Im pretty sure they would in anything else as well. As far as making it homey you can do whatever you want. A throw rug, stars on the ceiling, vinyl wall clings, storage bins ect. Its all about your imagination. Just ask Special K who hardly is on here but thats what she did and ahe cooks all these crazy concoctions in her truck:-)
