Lately ive strayed off the intrrstates to explore more US highways aka more scenery. Us 50 in CO has AMAZING views and its also a teeny tiny 2 lane highway real close to some jagged rocks but talk about BREATHTAKING! Or US 285? Yep think thats it in CO also but in winter just put your happy little swlf of I25 and just roll on because the mountains + winter = a LONG, HARD RIDE! But in Summer the mountains are BEAUTIFUL. Then again Im a sucker for the mountains.
I've never even been able to see a mountain before... :(
I am originally from Texas. But I was stationed at Fort Riley, KS for a few years....lol Kansas was one of the most boring places I have ever been. It's tied with Nebraska lol...if these wasn't any signs you wouldn't know you had left Nebraska....my brother is going to college in Crete,NE. Kansas was the first place I ever experienced a blizzard...lol

I saw smaller mountains growing up, but I never saw anything like the Rockies. I can remember getting out of my truck at a truck stop out West and getting vertigo when I first looked around at the mountains. I had never seen mountains on that scale and I almost fell over trying to get my mind around the size of em! I needed to look down at my feet for a moment to get my bearings.
The scenery never got old to me. Always loved it just the same.

I'm in Mid Michigan, but was born in Texas. I can't wait to go back home to Corpus Christi. I know it's changed so much since I left. That being said Daniel B.'s photos have me even more anxious to explore our back yard.
