Lot Lizards.

what do we call all these disqusting men that flash their lights at me and honk in parking lots?

Typical men?

This isn't a lot lizard story, but it's unique. I used to pick up from this place in Downtown Chicago maybe two or three times a month. Most of the time this one homeless guy would come to the truck with a story begging for money. I mean he was a complete mess. This wasn't just some guy down on his luck or having a bad week. This guy looked like he had done this for years and years.

Anyhow, every single time he'd approach me he'd have a different story. I must have heard 25 of em and every time I'd give him a couple of bucks just for the effort he put into the story.

One time for fun I asked him, "Don't you recognize me by this point? You've told me about a dozen stories so far. You should know my name by now." And of course he played it off like he would never do something like that!

We'd all like to help people make a better life for themselves if we could, but unfortunately it's rare you really get that chance. Sometimes the best you can do is give someone a couple of bucks and wish em the best of luck.

Most of us are decent enough, but, as with all else, the negative gets more attention than the positive.

BTW, if a "lot lizard" is calling you on the CB, be aware that it might be a police "sting." You get busted for that, the police take your truck.

I have only been asked by one lot lizard about wanting some company. I asked her how much. She told me. Then I told her that's half of what I charge. She just got mad and walked away.

Someone in our class used the term "Lot Lizzards" so we got to watch the video. Happens every class, apparently. The woman featured and her best friend (not in video) were abducted at a Wendy's after going there for Frosty's. They were raped, beaten and abused and terrorized into staying in that life until a truck driver called the police and they were rescued.

Let's be part of the solution and not the problem! PLEASE!
