As a spin-off idea from Chris' post on how bored he was while waiting for his run ...

Brett, why not launch some games on this site so when we're sitting around waiting for our runs, we can play video games or do crossword puzzles, sudoku, or multiple player games so we can play online together. ...or maybe brain-teaser games or something to keep our minds sharp?

We could play, "What's wrong with this load?" or "what did they miss on this inspection?" and see who comes up with the best answer or something like that. Some fun stuff to do on here, while we wait around?

Anyone have input for ideas?

(Guyjax and RedGator: the 3 of us should try to behave ourselves on this one.) Ha! LOL. good-luck.gif

I like doing Picross logic puzzles. I am addicted to them. Go to your app store and do a general search for "Picross". I can do them for hours. They can be difficult but they work your mind and teach you how to use logic to figure them out. Great brain tease.

I was actually thinking of something like this myself..

Being on the truck and playing multiplayer games is hard if you dont have unlimited data on your phone or wifi device for PC's, but playing smaller web based games, like MG had said above would work great and wouldnt use as much data as higher intense games, that would require a full broadband connection for.

There is a site that I still play on for games, Pogo.com for those who haven't been on there, its a site with a ton of java based games. from board games to arcade to casino. Something like that implemented into the site would be awesome..

I also played star craft or MineCraft when at shippers as it never really touched my data on my phone...

Shipper:

The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

not a bad idea sandman..... i like it

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Would be a nice idea except for one little detail. Those Java based games are not free. Oh YOU don't have to pay for them but the ads that come with them make pogo. Com look like a cheap Los Vegas.

Has anyone seen those other forums? Ads everywhere. Screw that. If ads start appearing here and make the website look like a mixture of late night Home Shopping Network and a very bad 70's drug induced nightmare I would believe I would not be around as often.

Want entertainment then there are websites for that. I just believe games on this website would somehow cheapen what we have here.

I disagree. It would be a very bad idea. Not to mention when people search for games they would end up coming here and you would have every mouth breathing, nose picking, booger eat, redneck, hillbilly mentally challenge neanderthal coming around and moderating that mad house would be a complete nightmare. Nope would not be good at all.

Granted.

However that was only one part of my suggestion. I also offered this, just for fun:

We could play, "What's wrong with this load?" or "what did they miss on this inspection?" and see who comes up with the best answer or something like that.

I had thought about a game using the TT Tracker App where people could guess where others would be in the coming days and see who gets the closest.

I'm also (at some point) going to build a simulator to teach backing, shifting, and tight maneuvers and that could easily be built with a teaching version and a game version.

Trucker's Hangman wouldn't a be bad either.
