Brett- thank you, do the companies provide you with GPS for truck routes or is that something I have to buy?

Companies only provide you with written directions and sometimes those are questionable at best. All GPS devices will need to be bought by you. Same as your atlas. Companies give you the truck and the load and you have to get it there.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Guy- sorry for not responding sooner .... do I need to learn how to read a map to pass one if not all the tests? I'll start pricin the gps for trucking routes. Thank you :)

Map reading is something that will be picked up over time through use. Unfortunately trucking gps's can be a bit pricey but worth there weight in gold. I have had every trucking GPS on the market. Yes well over $2000 spent to find the one I like. I tend to like the Rand McNally 720 plus its a 7 inch screen. Easy to use and one of the more accurate gps's. The Rand McNally 520 is only a 5 inch screen but has the same info on it as the 720.

Guy- Oh thats good news I am stressing enough with these test adding reading a map at the same time Id probably Pull my hair out. I keep resetting my score because I am not happy with it I want to make sure I understand everything 100% constantly rereading the chapters I'm starting to grasp it I was down to chapter 6 and was frustrated I wasn't understanding it then more frustrating that I can only reset ALL my scores instead of just one or two chapters starting at the beginning again. Rand McNally 720 would that be Rand McNally TND 720 or just Rand McNally 720?

TND 520 AND TND 720.

Honestly don't kick yourself to hard. It seems like a lot of info to learn and take in but believe me you are retaining more of it than you will believe you are.
