Take a really close look at Con-way Freight. They're hiring of new drivers happens in cycles and is not necessarily year-round but they're hiring now and if you have a clean record, (which I assume you do since you're new to driving) I don't know of anyone who has a higher entry-level pay for new drivers, other than the oil fields of ND. The cost of living in ND is so high that the pay doesn't really compensate for it very well.

thanks for the advice and welcome. I'm going to do some research on that company.
NP. Today was my first day. I'll continue my thread on them another day. I'm sick as a doggie. But check 'em out.

Hi, I'm Quentin I'm currently enrolled in a local community college in the lehigh valley for CDL Class A training program. I just recently got my license so I'm a little nervous about going for my Class A but its always been a dream for me to drive a 18 wheeler. Does anyone have any suggestions about where should i apply to for my first job? I have paid training from a great friend of mines so i wont be graduating in any type of dept or contract and i can get a job as soon as I'm finished school which is about 4 weeks. I know there allot of jobs that like their drivers to be at least 23 years of age. Ill be finished around my birthday in September so i'll be 22 by then if that helps. I also don't have a vehicle of my own but I'm working part time and saving in the process. Some advice would be nice so i can be steered in the right direction.
